Milton “Junie” or “Steve” Stevens, Jr.

Milton “Junie” or “Steve” Stevens, Jr., 88, of Independence, formerly of Latonia, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at home. Milton attended Holmes High School and, in his early days, loved to play baseball. In later years, he became a spectator – Reds, Bengals, and his beloved UC Bearcats basketball. He also enjoyed bowling and he continued to bowl in leagues for many years. Milton worked 34 years for the Zumbiel Box Company and after retirement, he and his wife, Ruth Gene, were able to travel with their friends and family and enjoy life. Milton also loved helping his family with their home remodeling projects; he was still painting trim into his 80’s!

Preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 65 years, Ruth G. Stevens. Survived by children, Esther (Wayne) Ballinger of Independence, Wayne (Kelly) Stevens of Florence, and Sherry (Mark) Jahnke of Ft. Wright; brother, Jim (Joan) Stevens; grandchildren, Lisa Ballinger Johnson, Kelly (Jenny) Ballinger, Adria Stevens, Chad (Kristin) Stevens, Joshua Jahnke, and Joyce (Bill) Wells; great-grandchildren, Andrew (Brittney), Aric, Tyler, Alisha, Carly, Cassidy, Anthony, Grace, Melody, TJ, and Chris; as well as great-great-grandchild, Caleb.

Visitation Monday, September 18 from 10 AM until service time 12 NOON – all at SWINDLER & CURRIN FUNERAL HOME - LATONIA. Burial at Independence Cemetery.
